We are in Coles Bay (lovely beach), just up the road from Wine Glass Bay. Famous for being, as you might guess, the shape of a wine glass. No points if you guessed that!
We wake to the sound of heavy rain on our RV roof. Not good. Outside it’s wet. Very wet, and also low cloud cover and a bit of mist. Up and on the road, we head for Cape Tourville Lighthouse and lookout, which, we are told by the nice lady on reception, has a great view of Wine Glass Bay. It was an interesting drive up to the Lighthouse, steep and one track road for most of it.

So we give up on that and head back down the hill. At the bottom we decide to go left and have a look at Honeymoon Bay. Good move! The weather brightens up, just a bit.

Whilst exploring the cove I offer to take a photo for a couple who are trying to set up a camera on rocks. I take several. The lovely couple are Gabi and Kyle who are on Honeymoon… and in Honeymoon Bay! Excellent!. Gabi is a professional photographer who has just switched from Nikon to Sony as her camera of choice. Gabi has lived in Australia and gave me some good tips on Cairns. Thanks Gabi. They also allowed me to take a picture for my blog.

We wish Gabi and Kyle a long and happy life together. Also Gabi, if you are reading this and want to drop your photo website in to the comments box below, I’ll put on on here for people to contact you or view your work.

We leave Honeymoon Bay and start our journey for our final Tazmania destination – Port Arthur. This journey was not without hazard. It started easily enough with a stop at Raspins Beach. Calm sea and shells. Shells are something we haven’t seen a lot of whilst in Tazmania. We saw so many on New Zealand… Nora took sock fulls home!

We called in at Me and Mum’s for good sausage rolls, cake and tea.

And then google took us off road…..

Eventually we got to Port Arthur and our base for the night. In fact we drove through Port Arthur without realising it, it’s that small.
Still raining, we set up camp. Saw the friendly locals and drank our remaining beer. Tomorrow we have plane to catch. Oz mainland, here we come.
