But it’s got some fabulous views of the Coromandel Coastline if you take the scenic route via Coromandel town.
We are up early and on our way to Zoe and Michael’s house to pick them up on route and, with Stu, we have a convoy!
It’s also another chance (3rd time) to say goodbye to Kate, who, later that day is flying back to the UK (safe journey Kate – it’s been fun!). As it happens, so is my RTS media assistant Paul and his lovely wife Debbie. Now they are not on the same flight. Paul and Deb are Emirates business class (spending the kids inheritance), wile Kate is on China airways ‘cheap as chips’. However, Paul has a cunning plan to sneak our lovely Kate in to the Emirates business lounge for all the freebie drinks and snacks, when they meet at the airport. Whether this happened or not, we don’t know as my RTS media assistant hasn’t submitted his report yet. Come on Paul, you have a deadline and it’s not how many whiskey’s you can drink before you get your flight!
So, business as usual for us, Tea and cake on the way…

And now for some great views..

We arrive in the town of Coromandel

And then suitably refreshed, we head for Whitianga.

And now a couple of Planet Earth 4 photos…

Next time, we explore the mountain that is, Maunganui (dramatic music fade out….)
