After 10 days straight of being on the move and from one planned activity to another, today has turned in to a ‘chill day’. We had booked to ride the Queenstown Gondola and have the thrill of riding down on the luge. However, this was put on hold when the weather turned, well, a bit like a UK summer… and that white spec in the middle is a plane taking off from Queenstown airport, which is on our left -rather them than me!.

Yes the rain was pretty torrential. Fortunately they allowed us to change our bookings to Sunday when the weather is supposed to be much better, or at least dry. And just for info, there are mountains behind those dark grey clouds as you can see below.

So a chilling and recovery day for the girls and a chilling day for me. Lynn and I did do some retail therapy at the Queenstown version of Selly Oak retail park. Lynn bought a Patagonia top for $249 and bought a Cadbury picnic for $1. Lynn also had a Picnic and we took Julie a Cadbury Flake.

In other news whilst we have been away, our God-daughter Adele became a proud mum on Tuesday to Martha Blossom. Adele and Martha are doing well and are now home. Congratulations to Adele and Zac on the birth of Martha and to very proud grand-parents Diane and Stuart.

Normal service will be resumed tomorrow when we will be on an adventure on Lake Wakatipu.
