Day 50 – Blue Moon….

Today is our final day in Tazmania and, has been the past couple of days, it’s raining again. We do all the necessary things we need to do before returning the RV. Ditch the grey water and clean out the toilet cassette. Julie opted for the grey water clean out. Good move Julie!

All done, we hit the road for the final time on the RV and , I have to say, I won’t be sad to be sleeping in a proper bed tonight, and one that we don’t have to make up.

On the way back, we pass a nice beach where whales are frequently seen…

Still, locals seem friendly… or just shocked to see someone.

Crossing the bridge, there are signs the airport is close. Good job, I only have 50 km left in the tank.

And we are in the airport waiting for our flight to Melboure.

We arrive late afternoon, settle in to our hotel and then head for something to eat and decide what to do for the evening. Pink is playing at the Marvel Arena -an option. Melbourne City have a 6 pointer with Sydney Wanderers – also an option. And the Sky Deck, with a view all over Melbourne is across the road. Hmmm. Lets eat…

We opt for the Melbourne city game but it kicks off in 10 minutes and it’s a 7 minute Uber ride. Also, I can’t get tickets on line because it wants my ‘State’. ‘Slightly merry’ isn’t an option.

we arrive and a nice man on the gate points us to the box office. The lovely young lady asks where we would like to sit and where we are from. We explain where we have been and where we are off to next. She say ‘And you came to see our team play?’ oh dear I thought. She then gave us 2 complimentary tickets just past the half way line – bless her!

Crowd control was evident. What am I saying, This isn’t Wolverhampton Wanderer, You don’t need police and loads of stewards.

It was a good game. Melbourne City won 7-0. We chatted with some local guys, fans of the team, who insisted we needed to come to all future games. That’s one on the left above. They said Melbourne City are owed by the same guys who own Manchester City. That explains the kit.

After the game, one of the guys very kindly gave me his scarf as a memento.
