Last night at St Helens, as suspected, we were off grid, to the point that I had no phone reception on either of my sims! We survived. The issue with being on an unpowered site is that the power plugs on the RV don’t work, so if you want a cup of tea, you need to boil the kettle old style, on the gas stove. So we did.

A quick breakfast at the local cafe and we are on our way to Binalong Bay. A beach that forms the Bay of Fires.

As it turns out, it was a really good beach with great waves. Just needed a surfboard. It is also a bank holiday weekend in Australia so there were lots of people about.

The water looked good so I decided to brave it. After all, it was about 27 degrees out of the water

It’s apparently call Bay of Fires because most of the rock formations are orange and red on this part of the coast

After most of the day on the beach it was back on the move again for our next stop in Coles Bay, about half wad down the East Coast. On the way down, the weather changed and became quite windy, which made for some good beach/wave photos.

We are back on a powered site tonight so I’m hoping for internet… we’ll see.
