Day 41 – Goodbye my friends…

After 6 weeks of New Zealand exploration and discovery with Lynn and the last couple of weeks with Stuart, Diane, Zoe and Michael, it’s the day Julie and I set off to start our ‘Dynamic Duo’ part of our adventure. Tazmania, via Auckland, awaits.

Breakfast was our usual fruit fiesta (I’ve never eaten so much fruit! So healthy) and toast. How I will miss it.

And just like that, it’s time to go. We need to return the car to the hire company so there is a deadline. After some very tearful goodbyes, not me of course, solid as a Hartley’s strawberry jelly(!), we were on our way.

Sad to say goodbye
Sadly waving goodbye..
Still waving..
still waving and we’re gone..
They’ve gone! Get the wine flowing – party, party…

Of course, it rains when we go to Auckland and today is no exception..

In fact, it’s torrential!
We stop for a loo break..
Classy toilet.

We finally make it to Auckland, check in to our hotel and then return the ‘Beast’. We started with just over 27000km on the clock and finish with 32345km.

Thanks ‘Arthur the Beast’ . You have been brilliant! We will miss you.

Arthur the Beast – The 4th member of our adventure around New Zealand’s south and north Island. Oh and it’s still raining.
