Day 28 – Nice day for a… White Wedding!

It arrives. The big day. This is why we are here. 10 months in the planning all bought about by an invitation to Michael and Zoe’s wedding.

It’s a 4pm wedding so we have time to kill. For starters, the weather is perfect. My new ‘media assistant’ Paul is a kindred spirit and we have the same wedding dress sense. We are ready early…

Suitable and classy attire for an island wedding – Blues and Albion united for the occasion. Not a ‘ville’ shirt in sight. There is disagreement in the house over our choice.

There is also some rehearsal to do for a surprise interjection of the father of the brides speech. The father of the bride is on board. No one else is aware… It goes without a hitch!

Actions are (almost) as loud as the words.

Time rolls on and before we know it, the ‘pop-up’ beauty salon appears in the lounge area..

Ladies wedding ready.

We scrub up well
Honestly, these 2 love birds!

The limo arrives to pick us up. It’s early, not good. But we are ready and we are on our way…

The Limo turned out to be a party bus – Can I get a ‘Ooo, Ooo’

We arrive at the Mudbrick Vineyard, the venue for the wedding. An absolutely stunning venue with the most amazing views!

Arrival drinks.

The beautiful bride and maid of honour
Man and wife – congratulations to Zoe and Michael.
With Adele, Zak and new Niece Martha (who couldn’t attend due to Martha being only a couple of weeks old) Congratulations to Adele and Zak.
Michael with Brother James and sister, the fabulous Helen
(Some of) The Midlands contingent with (Republic of Ireland international footballer) Elaine and the fabulous Helen.

Maid of Honour duties over, well apart from a speech, Republic of Ireland international footballer Elaine can relax.

Media Assistant Paul is impressed.

Time to take your seats for the meal.

Table 1 – oh, that’s not good with the light..
That’s better – Table 1

And table 3

Groom and Groomsman
It’s ma wedding , it’s ma wedding.. Can I gat a ‘whoop whoop’!
Two fathers..
And Mr H with Nora, Michael’s mum.

And as you can imagine, the party got in to full swing following the cutting of the cake.

Wonderful sunset, looking towards Auckland
A Bride ready to hit the dance floor and the opening dance was straight from Strictly come dancing! Well done both.
And the bride wore sneakers. Great move for the dance floor!
Later I caught up with the fabulous Helen, who was having a marvellous time..
I also caught up with Republic of Ireland International footballer Elaine who was having an equally marvellous time.
Adele Zak and Martha stayed the evening watching all the fun.

Of course. all good things come to an end and the final limo’s left at 1am to get the hardy party goers home. However, the good things finished just a bit earlier for Stuart when he was given the final bar bill for the wedding. Poor Stu…

Don’t cry mate, it’s only money. And you still have another daughter to get married.

Dear Zoe and Michael, thank you for allowing us all to share in your very special day. It will live long in our memories (and on this blog should you wish to revisit it). We wish you a long, happy and healthy life together, full of fun, adventure and most of all, love.

Tony and Julie (and I’m sure, all who attended your wedding).

xxxxxx
