Today we leave the beautiful Walnut Box and headed for Waiheke Island. As you are aware, the whole reason our amazing adventure came about was the invitation to see the lovely Zoe and Michael tie the knot on this beautiful island. This is now just a couple of days away. But before then we need to get to Waiheke and we decided to have a quick visit to Hamilton on the way up.
Well it was Saturday, traffic in Hamilton was ridiculously busy and other that parking in a shopping centre, grabbing a cup of tea, and nipping to the loo, we didn’t stop. To be honest, I only took 2 pictures which you can see below.

And we were back on the road, a bit ahead of schedule. In fact, 2 hours ahead of schedule when we arrived at the ferry port to get the ferry to Waiheke. So I let the young lady in the office know we were a bit early. She asks if we would like to go on a earlier sailing. ‘If there is room’ I said. well…

Now we arrive at the house we are staying in and the first thing we notice is, it’s quite high up. Probably got a great view…

Again, if you have been reading my blog, you will know I’ve had some ‘challenging’ parking situations. Well this one really does test all your driving skills, and the anti collision system of the car, which did not want to reverse up this drive… untill I disabled it!

On the plus side, the view was great..

Unfortunately, the bedroom downstairs had an awful smell so the first order of business was to move the bed upstairs for Lynn. Can we fix it, yes we can!
Second order of business was to meet up with the wedding party for a social evening. Unfortunately when we phoned to order food, the place had closed so again, all hands to the pump and a banquet was soon rustled up by these wonder people..

Tomorrow is ‘wedding eve’.
